YOUNG AUDIENCES production, ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE HORRIBLE NO
GOOD VERY BAD DAY. This musical, based on and written by
author Judith Viorst -- who penned the best selling popular children’s
book of the same name is a fun filled look at the famously rotten day

April
1st ~ GOLOSHES
OF FORTUNE ~ This
March, the theatre will continue its highly successful EDUCATIONAL
OUTREACH production by bringing a lesser known Hans Christian Andersen
story "GOLOSHES OF FORTUNE" into the local elementary
schools. This whimsical tale, adapted by Elizabeth Wong, follows a
enchanted pair of galoshes as they travel from Denmark, into outer
space and back again on the feet on unsuspecting children whose wishes
are granted by the magic of the galoshes—with sometimes disastrous,
and always hilarious results. The production will be presented on the
Orphan Girl Stage on April 1st.

April
27th - 30th ~ Shakespeare’s
TWELFTH NIGHT will showcase the Orphan Girl Theatre
teen actors in the TEEN CLASSIC production. One of
Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, TWELFTH NIGHT tells the story
of a pair of shipwrecked twins, around whom various forms of mischief,
mistaken identity and mayhem revolve. Some of Shakespeare’s most
irresistible characters are involved in the comic confusion which
teaches us all a few lessons about love, longing and the perils of
romantic illusion.

Spring
2006 ~ SARAH
PLAIN AND TALL by Joseph Robinette to the OGT stage in
their FAMILY production. Based on the award winning novel by
Patricia Maclachalan the story -- set in the early 1900s -- is that of
a Kansas widower and his two children who place an ad seeking a wife
and mother. A young woman named Sarah Wheaton responds, describing
herself as plain and tall. This heartwarming play re-enacts the
exciting and wondrous month that Sarah spends with the family, and the
lifelong lessons they learn from one another.
